“It’s a record,” says the Guinness Book of Records.
The village of Ware-on-the-Whey recently made record book history by becoming the village whose inhabitants hold the most records: an astounding 231.
Here are just a few of the amazing records this village holds.
Dan Dugdale holds the record for the World’s smallest garden consisting of a single grain of fine soil. It recently got washed away when his dog slavered on it but he’s been working overtime to rebuild it.
Arthur Mullet holds the record for eating the most sprouts in 15 minutes – 436.
He also contributed to the village’s record for having the windiest street.
Mrs Debbie Watson holds the record for the largest pancake collection which number 1,243. She keeps them in a trunk in her bedroom. Some of the older ones are beginning to decompose but are still recognisable as pancakes for the record.

Timmy Moped’s pet frog Freddy made a new record when he jumped 17.3″ wearing miniature rabbit ears.
Timmy himself, who lives on the village farm with his extended family, holds the record for the most fingers on one hand – 11.
His older brother, Benny, holds the record for having the largest feet at 23.4″ long which most villagers attribute to the steamroller accident.
One of their uncles, Ted, made a new record by holding 117 lit matches in his mouth at once. He said he did it to help him give up smoking.
Ricky, the village decorator, made a new record for painting a 6′ x 6′ area of wall which he did in 1.4 seconds by throwing a bucket of paint at it. The rules stated he could use any kind of brush and he said he used an air brush.
The village vicar helped ex-Mr and Mrs Jones to registers the fastest wedding and divorce on record. The couple were married then immediately had their wedding annulled due to incompatibility.
The village holds the record for the most naked people in a supermarket. They used the local Tesco’s which said it had to give three of its staff the rest of the day off leaving Barry to restack the bread shelves on his own. The 267 participants didn’t buy anything as they had nowhere to put their loose change.
The villagers also came together to create a record of the largest number of people wearing balaclavas at the same time. However, 96 of the 4,327 taking part reported being burgled when they got hone,
The village wanted to claim the record for the longest response time by the police but a spokesman for Guinness said they no longer accept that as a record as it is being broken every day.
