A crock of gold or negotiate with Boris? The EU has to make a tough choice

As UK PM Boris Johnson‘s hope for further negotiations with the EU keep receding, he blames Leprechauns for interfering with the process.

“It’s obvious to me,” said Mr Johnson. “And everyone in my cabinet, that foul play is afoot within the EU.

“The lack of the EU’s willingness to negotiate is down to interference by and collaboration with Leprechauns.

“They have systematically and consistently undermined our efforts at renegotiation. They told the EU that if they refuse to renegotiate they will find a crock of gold at the end of the rainbow. As we all know, the promise of getting your hands on a Leprechaun’s treasure is impossible to resist so we’re stymied for now.

“In fact, they’re everywhere, running around the corridors undermining this government’s best efforts to obtain a negotiated deal.

As the interview was concluding, Philip Hammond, Jo Swinson and Caroline Lucas walked along the corridor, although not together.

“Look,” said Mr Johnson. “There’s two of the blighters now.”
